EQUIPMENT EACH PLAYER NEEDS!

For SPRING and FALL Seasons Fayette County Youth Softball Association will provide each player with the following:

1.  Team Jersey

2.  Team Socks

Equipment that you will need to provide:

1.  Pants:  Pants are not included in the registration fee.  Every girl is sized differently, and they don't all fit in the same kind of pants.  To make it easier for all involved, let your child try a few different brands and sizes to see which is best for her.  All we require is that all pants be black in color.

2. Belt: Starting Spring 2023 we will be providing a premium sock and not providing belts.  Please use any belt from a previous season or if you are new to our group purchase a black belt.

3.  Glove:   If you don’t already have one then make sure the one you buy is the right size for your child's hand. A glove should just be an extension of your fingers.

4.  Helmet with facemask:  Each player provides their own batting helmet with mask. It is recommended for all infield players (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and SS) wear a facemask while in the field. This is a safety item for your child. It is required for the pitcher to wear a mask.

5.  Cleats:  Cleats are not required but are highly recommended. If you are a frugal shopper, you can usually find them on sale. No metal cleats are allowed in recreation softball.

6.  Bat:  Your coach may have extra bats you can use until you decide which size is best. Also, some teammates will share but make sure you get their permission first. You can spend a lot of money on a bat but again if you are a frugal and patient shopper you can usually search through them all until you find one under $50.00. Make sure it is 2004-2020 ASA approved. It is important to get the right size bat for optimum performance. Make sure the weight is light enough to handle but the length is long enough to cover the plate.

7.  Ball:  It is recommended that you have a practice ball for home use.  We have a few old balls that we can hand out on a first come, first serve basis.

 6U, 8U, & 10U – 11” (core 0.470)
12U and up – 12” (core 0.470)

Check with your coach for any additional equipment you may need and please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
